Support for CR2 files (5D MkIII) - Denoise feature

Explorer ,
Apr 24, 2023 Apr 24, 2023

I'm using a Canon ESO 5D MkIII camera and saving my files as CR2 images - Canon RAW.

The Denoise AI feature in Lightroom Classic 6.3 does not recognize this format. Please add CR2 file format to the Denoise feature.

The feature works for me off another camera where the images are CR3.

Thank you

Raw files for Canons (CR2) are supported. MRaw and SRaw are not supported as they are not true raw formats.  It sounds like you are not shooting full raw.

Those formats have been demosaiced and are no longer raw files.  True raw files are mosaiced.
Support may exist in the future but for now Denoise is limited to Bayer and Xtrans mosaiced raw files.

Ah. Thank you Rikk. That's the format I am using. I tried Adobe support and they didn't know and suggested I log a feature request.

BTW - what do you eman MRaw is not true raw?

Thank you.

MRaw is processed and not true raw data.

@laurencef25485483  You have posted in a thread that relates to a specific Canon mode with mRAW and sRaw images.  In addition the thread is marked answered so it's unlikely to attract attention.

Best to create a new thread with an appropriate heading so other users can offer help with your issue.

Hello, I'm trying to use the A.I. noise removal tool in Lightroom on files from the Canon 6D Mark II camera and the option appears unavailable, with the following message: "Noise removal is currently not supported for this type of photo ."

Can anyone tell me why?

the program is up to date and I have already used the tool on other files (from other cameras and brands)
