supported lens profiles are missing

How do I add profiles for supported lenses to Lightroom?

In "Lens Corrections" in the Develop tab, my list of lens profiles does not include many of those "List of Supported Lenses" on Adobe's web page.  Examples include the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM and TAMRON SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD A007E.  Updating my version of Lightroom tonight did not add these supported lenses to my lens profiles.

Lens profiles are mostly only for raw files.  If you are looking at a JPG (or other non-raw such as PSD or TIF) then you won't see very many lens profiles.

Quote "Please explain how to add lens profiles to Adobe Lightroom 6.4."

Newly created lens profiles from Adobe get installed/ added with each new update from i.e If new profiles were added after LR 6.4 then the only way to add them is to update to the later/ latest version of Lightroom. So if you wish lens profile that was added in LR 6.7 then you need to update to that version. The latest version of Lightroom which is LR 6.12 so LR 6.4 is way back in history.

If you wish to add lens profiles created by other users or third party providers you have to copy them to the appropriate   folder in your user account in the operating system.

See the info below.

Your custom Camera Raw & Lens Profiles should be installed to the User folders…

Lightroom 4 no longer uses the shared ProgramData (Windows) / Application Support (Mac) folders for Camera or Lens Profiles. Instead, it stores the built-in profiles with its program files.

When you create camera or lens profiles, they must be stored in the user locations listed below. If you previously stored custom profiles in other locations, you’ll need to move them to these user folders, otherwise Lightroom won’t be able to find them.

Windows Vista or 7—C: \ Users \ [your username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe \ CameraRaw \ CameraProfiles \

Mac—Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / CameraProfiles /

For the lens profiles, substitute the LensProfiles folder for the CameraProfiles folder.

The camera and lens profile file extensions are:

.dcpr—camera profile recipe file used for creating/editing a profile in the DNG Profile Editor

.dcp—camera profile

.lcp—lens profile

I was seeing a very abbrievated list of profiles on a new install, most were missing..  after i clicked the setup drop down menu in the lens correction box and changed it to custom, the profiles all show up now, in all three setup options. Weird. Hopefully this helps someone.

Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information including system information, a complete description of the problem and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.

In the unlikely event the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.

Thank you!
