I'm now having trouble downloading photos from my Canon EOS Rebel T6. I have Lightroom 6. Had no trouble all of last year. I just got a new Mac and download my Lightroom 6 software to the new machine. Now, when I wnet to import, Lightroom offered the error message that it couldn't read the files. Then, upon a second time, it sent the message, "The files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom." I've changed nothing on the Camera. Any ideas?

Hi Arthur,
When you installed LR 6 on your new computer, it installs the basic 6.0 version. You'll need to check for updates to bring your Lightroom up to a minimum of version 6.5 for your camera:
Cameras supported by Camera Raw
Help > Check for Updates should be what you need.

That's interesting, but curious. I used exactly the same camera on the version of the software that I downloaded one year ago on my old MacBook Pro and had no problem downloading raw images. Now I do... Any explanation?

Do you know the exact version of Lightroom installed on your computer now?

My guess would be that Lightroom prompted you to update on the older computer, and you did. On the new computer, it might be awhile (days or weeks) before LR checks on its own. As Jim asked, (if you still have the older computer), what version is it?
