Hi mantralightroom,

Those are the only two options to turn off the face detection in Lightroom :

under catalog settings > Metadata

and under Lightroom 6 identity plate : where you can pause it.

I just spent hours trying to stop this nonsense.  Here's how I did it.  As it detects faces, double click on one and it will appear in the Library module enlarged.  At the bottom in the task bar there will be a small icon (next to the zoom dial) with a person image.  Click on this to turn off the nonsensical aspect of Lightroom CC.  What a wonderful product.....why do they do this?

Thanks Im going to try this. Yes, what an annoying addition. Why didnt they leave that to app's like iphoto for family photos. its slowing everything down on my uploads. They should at least ask the question, "Do you want this? " instead of doing it automatically.
