I use Lightroom V6.0 and have done for a few years and never had a problem, I use Windows 11 up to date. I updated Adobe Creative cloud this morning and now Lightroom tries to open and crashes immediately. I have over a 1000 photos I need to edit quickly, any help appreciated. I'm not particularly technically minded either. Thanks

Do you mean the perpetual license of Lightroom 6 or do you use Lightroom 6 from a subscription?
Please post the detailed error message word-by-word.
If you're using the perpetual license try the folloeing steps:
Try resetting the preferences of Lightroom Classic: How to reset Lightroom Classic preferences (adobe.com)
It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/preference-file-and-other-file-locations.html
Another possible reason for crashing can be a faulty catalog.
Hold the Ctrl-Key while starting LrC. This opens a catalog selection dialog.
First select the appropriate recent catalog and let it check it – note the checkmark "Test integrity of this catalog" to check its integrity. If that doesn't help, try to create a new one and see if this catalog works. If yes, you could then try to import your current catalog into the new one.

To be honest I'm a bit lost with it. I bought Lightroom download from Amazon UK some years ago and never had any problems,I bought it outright at the start as it was soon going to Subscription.

It's a perpetual licence and I've uninstalled Lightroom 6 and uninstalled it and installed it again and still the same result, not opening still. Done all of the above that you've said and still the same.

Do you mean the Creative Cloud Desktop app? It is only needed if you have a subscription.
Are you getting any error messages?

You shouldn't have to update the Creative Cloud at all, since Lr 6 is not part of the Creative Cloud. Unless you have other Adobe software that does use the Creative Cloud, I would uninstall the Creative Cloud, and then re-install Lr 6 using the "offline activation"method here.

in addition of the answer of @dj_paige you'll find the installations files for latest version of LR 6 (6.14) here:
Please be patient, the downloads can take several minutes to start and can proceed slowly.
It's recommend to save the download files on an USB stick, hard drive or CD/DVD, but it isn't sure how long these links are available.

Hi,
Sory I have been at work for 13 hours today, I haven't got round to doing anything yet, I tried as only had 5 mins to have a quick go. Adobe creative cloud won't let me uninstall it, so I switched off the connection to the internet and launched LR6.0 and it started OK. I edited a couple of photos and exported them fine. Re-connected to the internet and LR immediately crashed and shut down so I'm completely lost with what's causing the issue.

As @dj_paige wrote you should deinstall Lightroom 6 and the Creative Cloud Client. Then use the Adobe Cleaner Tool to clean your computer from remainig cc files and restart your PC after the tool has been finished.
Download the latest version of lightroom 6 by using the link I posted in my formaer post and do the installation and offline activation as @dj_paige mentioned.

Hi
Don't know how but I followed the instructions and had to use the creative cloud uninstaller to get rid of it, I don't have anything in that anyway. I also Photoshop Elements 2022 with a perpetual licence. I uninstalled that too then installed Lightroom 6 again. This worked so I was happy then installed Elements 2022 again and now Lightroom is back to crashing and not working. I'm not really understanding this as haven't had any issues since installing Lightroom in 2018 and Elements in 2022.

Also, Elements 2022 does not crash when connected to the internet, just Lightroom. How strange. Will I have to use Lightroom in the future without being connected to the outside world?

Do you get an error message during LR6 crashed? If yes, please post the message word-by-word.
Which exact version of Lightroom do you use? The latest version of Lightroom 6 is version 6.14
Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LR Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

Hi,
Working 13 hour days so not much time to fit much in at the minute, I've just copied the system info, I am using Windows 11 not 8.1 so not sure why it's saying that. There is no error message at all, if Lightroom is now open because I'm not connected to the net and then connect it just closes instantly and disappears fast. As far as I'm aware it is just Lightroom 6.0. When I uninstalled all the Creative Cloud then Lightroom and Elements i re-installed Lightroom first and connected to the net and it didn't crash then installed Elements 22 and then it crashed instantly. Thank you for your help, appreciated. System info below.

It seems that you have buldin a CPU with an internal graphic processor. Try to disable the processor internal graphic card. This internal GPU can sometimes caused several issues.
Open the Windows Device Manager, right-click the card's name and choose Disable.
In a next step download and install the latest version (6.14) of Lightroom 6. You're using the first released version (6.0) and normally there are several bugs inside. These are solved in the following updates.
... There is no error message at all...
Take a look into the Windows Log if there are appropriate entries when Lightroom crashed.
