When I import pictures from a folder in Windows 11 it also brings in any videos. Why does it do this when they can't be viewed or edited. I don't think of Lightroom Classic as a video editer or want it to be a video editer.
Some types of videos can be viewed in LrC. Some types of videos can be edited in LrC. https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/video-support-lightroom.html
If you don't want the videos imported into LrC, don't import them. You can select (on the Import screen) the sort order, which could be media type. Then the videos are separated from the still photos and easily left out of the import.

As DJ points out, Lr only imports what you tell it to import - just untick the files you don't want Lr to pick up.
To make it easier to uncheck videos in the Import window, do Sort: Media Type at the bottom center of the Import window. Then all the videos will be grouped together.
