I have had Lightroom ever since it was launched. I think it is a very good program and hoped to continue with it.
I have version 6.14 and it can not be updated but in that case I have to choose to subscribe to Lightroom Classic. I am very disappointed that you can no longer buy a newer version.
Question: What happens the day I can't renew my subscription (illness, death) for some reason? Does the opportunity disappear in a sensible way get my pictures? I know, of course, that the original images are on my hard drives, but all the edits, all notes and tags. /Leif

Lightroom will remain functioning, but the develop module and the map module will be disabled.

All of your photos are still available, along with edits and user-provided metadata, as the Library Module will continue to function with 100% of its features working; and the photos can be exported with edits and user-provided metadata. You won't be able to make additional edits (Develop Module is disabled) and you won't be able to use the Map Module.

You can even make some basic edits, because the Quick Develop block in the Library module keeps working. From that block you can also still apply presets.
