When drawing with Wacom pen, it sometimes does not "release" when the pen is lifted from the tablet

For example, when using the brush to create a mask, it will SOMETIMES continue to draw until the pen is lifted more than 1" to 2"off the tablet and then continue to draw once again when pen is in contact with the tablet or back within 1" to 2". When that happens, the only way to "release" the brush is to tap the pen on the tablet.

I deleted and reinstalled latest Wacom driver and then fell back to a previous driver version; both to no avail.

I also have a Xencelabs pen & tablet which doesn't have the same problem. (Yeh, I know -- why don't I just use that? Answer: I've had the Wacom for years and I like it better LOL)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I too have noticed this behavior in LR (now v. 13.3 but also did this in 12.4 etc) for some time. VERY frustrating; I find myself stepping back in the History Panel to correct it, too. I thought it might have been related to the PS problem (supposedly FINALLY fixed in v. 25.6) where tools 'freeze.'

I use the Wacom Intuos Pro 4, so its driver 6.3.41-1 is the last one Wacom offered for this tablet. Wacom doesn't update it anymore. (I suppose they want us to buy a new Wacom, though I thought this one seemed to be working ok, even after all these years. But, maybe not...)

I am now going to be trying out the Xencelabs Pen Tablet, Medium. Here's hoping this 'flying' behavior of the brush doesn't occur with that device. Thanks for the possible solution!
