This link is usless without search: https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/lightroom-classic/user-guide.html

The online help is usless, the search never ever returns the needed inforamtion.

I'm looking to learn what some basic functions of the software do. For example: What does the Sinchronize Folder do?

Where can I access such help?

Just use Google and search for "What does Lightroom Classic synchronize folder do". You will get this result: https://www.google.com/search?q=what+does+synchronize+folder+in+Lightroom+Classic&rlz=1C9BKJA_enNL66...

ChatGPT will probably also give you a great explanation if you ask this question.

I agree that the search at Adobe.com is useless for searching the product documentation.

"'I'm looking to learn what some basic functions of the software do. For example: What does the Synchronize Folder do?"

In addition to Johan's suggestions, consider the book Lightroom Classic: The Missing FAQ:

https://www.lightroomqueen.com/shop/adobe-lightroom-classic-missing-faq/

which you can download as a PDF and optionally get a printed version.

I rely it on as the authoritative reference of how each feature in LR works. It contains a good balance of tutorial explanation and reference documentation.  The author keeps it up-to-date with ebooks published with every LR update.

In comparison, Adobe doesn't try as hard to keep its Help up-to-date.
