Why can't I import raw files from my Nikon Z6 in Lightroom Classic?
You can also use the NEWEST version of the Free Adobe DNG converter program to convert the NEF files from the Z6 into DNG files, nothing is lost, and then import the DNGs into LR 8.0.
It is my opinion that Adobe dropped the ball with the release of LR 8 ACR 11 as it does support the Z7 and not the Z6. So they created a newer version of the DNG converter just for this reason.

Mac

Download the most current version of the DNG converter from here.
Adobe Digital Negative Converter
That hs either the Windows or Mac version.
Also you run the converter on the FOLDER, IE you SELECT the folder the NEF files are in NOT the actual files. The converter works on the FOLDER LEVEL.
It is best to Copy the files from the camera memory card to a FOLDER on your hard drive and then run the converter on that folder on your hard drive.

Maybe you know why MacBook Pro doesn't see my Z6 as a storage? PC does. I just can't transfer any files from xqd in Z6 to ssd in MBP.

Have you updated your Mac Book to the latest macOS 10.4.1 so support for raw files are the latest from Apple?

As @DdeGannes points out, updated device drivers may help.
However, in the long run, you will be happier using a card reader instead of directly connecting the camera. The card readers are faster, less error prone, and don't need special drivers.
