Why do I now have to manually press "Update AI Settings" whenever I copy/paste an image's settings ?

Hey all, I just updated Lightroom Classic two days ago. Everything is going well, besides one major (for me) problem which definitely breaks my work flow.

Before, I used to be able to paste one image's settings (WB, Shadows, Highlights, etc...) including Masks that use AI, and it would simply automatically update the AI masks on every single photos at once, taking 2-3 minutes per photo shoot.

But now, I have to constantly press "Update AI" on literally every mask and even on the Healing tool. It's getting tiring and annoying that it now won't simply update everything AI related while pasting settings.

On every photo, I have to click a small triangle with an exclamation mark on it, underneath the Histogram.

Does anyone have any clue ? I already made some research but no success. Someone suggested to deleted the .lrdata file related to my catalog, but no luck either 😞

Thank you guys in advance 🙂

If your pasted settings contain a healing brush and the receiving image already contains an AI mask, then this brush will be pasted after that AI mask was created. Applying the healing brush (or pasting it, that is the same) after you added an AI mask means you will have to update that mask. This has nothing to do with the latest update, it has been like this ever since AI masks were introduced.

If you mean that this happens even when you paste the settings on an unedited image, then you probably have the same issue as a number of other people here. It seems that for some unknown reason their 'catalogname.lrcat-data' is not writable for Lightroom. Again this has nothing to do with the update, this issue has been reported for the previous version as well. Unfortunately, it is difficult to reproduce and to find out why this gets changed to 'Read only' again every time (for some people, not all). That is why there is still no definitive solution.
