Why does Lightroom reads my browser history (and bookmarks) and tries to contact all pages via https

Hi!

I have just created a new catalog. After opening the Preferences, Lightroom tried to contact all pages in my browser history and all pages I have bookmarked?

What is Adobe spying here?

I had to cancel all https connections for Lightroom (and I will do this for all other Adobe apps too).

Why is Adobe spying on us? Any hints?

Adobe is not spying on you, but some functions (like verifying your subscription, generative remove, etc.) require internet access. If you do not trust Adobe, then don't use their products.

Adobe does not need to read my browser bookmarks and Adobe does not need to contact each website of my browser bookmarks. Do Adobe really need contact to the website of my health insurance company, or to metallica.com to verify my license, or do you think a bookmarked website for test of washdryers will help Adobe to verify my subscriptions?

"...If you do not trust Adobe, then don't use their products." is no argument, it is an helpless deathhit sentence trying to keep someone silent! And it also shows clearly that you don't know anything about privacy.

You are the only person who has ever reported this. Adobe is not spying on the rest of us like this. A much more likely explanation is that you did something wrong when you created a new catalog ... what you did wrong I have no clue, but it sure sounds like that is the problem.

File - New Catalog - (entered a name) - hit "Create" and clicked Lightroom Classic - Preferences.
(Then Lightroom tried to reach all my bookmarked websites.)

What's wrong with the above mentioned way?
Is there a "more correct" way of creating a catalog?

Not "more correct" but this is easier IMO than using the top 'File' menu in Lr-Classic:

1) Hold down [OPT] when opening/starting the Lr-Classic app.

2) Click the button-

3) Enter a Name.

A new empty catalog opens. Changing Lr-Classic Preferences is not part of this 'New Catalog' procedure.

Or your system has a virus or malware.

Lightroom-Classic is not a web browser.

Nope, no Virus. Three different business cclass scanners, no usb access and no direct contact to the internet (everything goes through a proxy).
The virus then had to hijack the Adobe Lightroom Software to contact all the websites in the name and with the software of Adobe? No! Little Snitch definitely asked for permission of Adobe Lightroom Classic to allow or deny the contact to all this sites.

Which tool are you using to observe that LR is trying to open all the pages in your browser's history?

I have never witnessed such behavior in LrC before. Can you post a video of what you are seeing.
