Hey @aarego! Welcome to the Lightroom Community. The original post was related to macOS.

You're reporting similar behavior on Windows. The issue at the root & the cause could be different. I'll move your response to a separate thread of its own.

To know more about this, we'll need more info from Lightroom Classic > Help > System info. Does it slow down after a specific set of steps? Is there a noticeable pattern to this behavior?

In the meantime, try these basic troubleshooting steps:

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Attention; bug workaround if LrC will not start or is very very slow after updating to v 12.2.1

See the bug:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-lrc-12-2-1-fails-to-start-launch-or-is-extre...

  • Note that this can be for both Windows and MAC
  • Note that this can be for both LrC will not start or LrC is very slow all of a sudden
  • Note that the possible bug is under investigation
  • Note that Adobe states the possible solution attempted is not damaging
  • Temporary fix while waiting for a LrC update to remedy the bug involves deleting or moving a specific CACH file named “metrics.json
  • Note that this file may not exist if LrC is running
  • Note that this file appears to be created if you have not opted out at Adobe.com from the Desktop App Usage .
  • Recommend that if you opt out from the Desktop App Usage, that you check back later to see that it sticks.

Directions as follows:

  1. Close LrC.
  2. On the web, bring up Adobe.com. Sign in if you are not already signed in.
  3. Select the Privacy tab. Turn off the option Desktop App Usage > Share Information On How I Use Adobe Desktop Apps.
  4. Restart your computer, thus insuring that LrC is not running in background for some reason.
  5. Delete the file “metrics.jon”.

This file is located at:

Win: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom\Caches\metrics.json

Mac: /Users/<username>/Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/metrics.json

For MACOS users, this file is by default hidden. One way around that as follows:

          • In Finder, do the menu command Go > Go To Folder:
          • Type in (copy/paste)

                                                   ~/Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom

          • Hit the return key
          • If not already, select the menu command View > Details
          • Delete the file "metrics.json”

6. Start LrC

I am having similar issues.  I am on a PC- Windows11.   I am using the regular Lightroom (LR)  When I copy the setting an past to another photo, it is taking 30 or more seconds to take effect.  During this time I cannot do anything.   When I I loaded the photos it took  twice as long as in the past to load 500 photos.  I would see them, but when I clicked on them they were digitized and fuzzy.  When I deleted photos...  Last week the were removed immediealty from my work area.   Now they sit, darkened out in my work area and the upper left cloud/sync sits and spins.  They eventually go to the delete folder, but not any where near the time they did last week.  I periodically went to my delete folder and permently deleted.   Same here...   It was almsot instantanious last week.  Now it struggles to remove one by one.   I finally left Lightroom running and went to bed.  Next day tried again to the same issues.  I read the above and tried turning the Graphics Processor "off."  It was on "auto."  I did and it helped with cutting and pastining the photo settings to one photo to another.   That was great.   Only When I went to "export,"  I ran into the the same thing again.   I got the "Lightroom not responding"  and the upper right Cloud symbol had the never ending blue moving ring. I had to do a hard stop on the program after about 5 minutes.  I relaunched and a blue bar came up saying "Enabling GPU in the preferences panel will improve performance."  I declined and tried again to export using custom Settings.  Everything was extremely slow to load.  I waited about 2 minutes, normally the right-hand drop down menue pops up immediatly.   It was just black.  I started running my mouse over the area and then it loaded.   I just exported 70 photos and that seemed to be normal speeds.   Also, tried to use the new    noise reduction upgrade to the AI.  I just clicked on it and it is slow to launch on screen.   Have the other issues, I am wondering if the 5 minutes it says to render is acurate time?   Wondering, If this is my new normal, can I go back to the old version.   I am shooting indoor high school swimming and the added time waiing for everything to work as well as not being able to use the noise reduction the same as before is making this part of the photo process not fun.
Thanks,
Mel
