Writing keyword with an umlaut-character creates two characters

Community Beginner ,
Aug 17, 2025 Aug 17, 2025

When entering a keyword for a file, and using a letter with an umlaut such as 'ý'  Lightroom will turn it into two characters: 'y´'.

It works perfectly with already stored words with an umlaut, such as 'skordýr', but will create erroneus new words.

Hey, @LjanusH. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

I've tried this, but I couldn't recreate it with the ALT keys and the English US keyboard input. What language is your keyboard input set to? Does this happen with a specific set of images or collections?

Please share more details, such as the version of Lightroom Classic, operating system details, screenshots, and a video of the error/behavior.

Awaiting hearing from you. Thanks!

Also, what exact sequence of keys are you typing to get ý?
