I'll start off by saying, I've imported XMP and LRT files to their appropriate places as well as restarted light room, deleted the lightroom, reinstalled it, and my files will not show up to save my life. I truly don't understand how this can be, but if there is anyone who can help me I'd be forever grataeful. I recently bought a new macbook and installed them from a hard drive and can not access them so it's useless for me. HEELELLLLPPPPP!!!!

XMP files are not images. They can be files that contain metadata for images, and they can be presets or profiles. The latter need to be imported. LRT files are also not image files (https://www.solvusoft.com/en/file-extensions/file-extension-lrt/) so what exactly are you trying to do with Lightroom?

So describe exactly what you did. Are you using Lightroom or Lightroom Classic?

I'm using classic. I took my XMP files and put them in Cameraraw>Settings> and insterted my folder here.
Secondly I went into lightroom>Develop presets and imported my presets in here that are all LRT files. Nothing is showing up in lightroom. I've clicked reveal all presets and nothing is showing up.

Please don't. Not all of us have high speed connections and/or want to watch videos. I certainly do not. Just tell us what you did.

You said "I've imported XMP and LRT files to their appropriate places", but I don't know what that is supposed to mean. What are those LRT files and what does "import to their appropriate places" mean? You may think I am unhelpful but I do this voluntarily. I don't work for Adobe so I do not have to help you. And if this is your reaction to me asking for more information so I am able to help you, then I guess maybe we should call it quits.

The title of my post says presets will not show up on Mac..... I'm trying to import my presets into my new macbook into lightroom.
