Is there any sensible way to do this without going through a computer? LR Mobile doesn't recognize anything other than photos in a gallery app, so far as I can tell. Perhaps there's an easy way to get Google Photos pictures into said gallery, but I haven't found that either. (New phone running Android 7.0; everything backed up and apps up to date.)

Mohit,
I solved my own problem ages ago by syncing gallery contents from old phone

working).
Google Photos were obviously on the phone, BUT in Google Photos, NOT in a
gallery app. The problem is that there is no obvious way to "save the
photo album from the Google photo's in your phone gallery." At least,
I've never found one.

Hi MPDAEF,
You can save the photo album from the Google photo's in your phone gallery, once you have all the images saved then you can add the images in Lightroom mobile straight from the phone gallery.
Open the Google Photos on your phone and restore or save the images in the phone.
Back up photos & videos - Android - Google Photos Help
Hope it helps.

Mohit

Thanks. But that doesn't solve the actual problem. All photos are on
phone in Google Photos, which is always synced. LR will pick up anything
from a gallery app, but NOT from Google Photos. The difficulty is in
getting Google Photos into any gallery app. There doesn't appear to be
any straightforward way to do that, only perhaps a couple of very tedious
workarounds. I was hoping someone had a better way to do that OR a way to
get LR to pick up photos from Google Photos.

Thanks.
