Every time I use my brush tool in Lightroom, it crashes

New Here ,

My lightroom classic app crashes almost everytime I use my brushtool. I have a 1 year old Macbook Pro that cost me over $2,000, this should not be happening. This is a part of my income, and I am about to lose it as I am trying to finish a customer's photos. I have sent multiple reports in when it crashes (over 20) and have had no response and the issue still stands. The app is fully updated. Please help.

Have you tried refeshing the Lightroom preference file? If not, use Method 1 as described in this Adobe Help document. https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html

If above doesn't solve your issue, please post the first 30 or so lines of your System Info. You can access this info from Lightroom Help > System Info.

One ongoing issue not well handled is 4K and beyond, Yes newer versions of LRC have improved the GPU usage, but still, issues especially once adjustment brushes are used.

You can look at your preview sizes, you can look at your Camera RAW CACHE (I assume yours is large, not that poor Adobe default), but you may need to look at display resolution.

Now, being MACOS, you cannot reduce the actual resolution, you can only scale. But, if you attach a non 4K monitor, a nice 2K, and send LRC to it, then you would be working on a smaller dusplay resolution, and fewer pixals woukd have to be recreated at each edit step.

Yes, not optimal, yes, waste an expense taken for 4K, 5K, but hopefully gets the job done.
