I have a collection set called "NYCC 2019". In this collection of images, I have 70 or so that are flagged.
Using a smart collection WITHIN this collection set, I am saying "show me all flagged images in the collection NYCC 2019" and no results return. What am I doing wrong?
If I choose the match to ANY, I get flagged images from ALL over my entire catalog - not specific to the NYCC 2019 collection.
The only way I can see to get this to work is to set the source to FOLDER and choose the name of the original source folder called "Patron Pics at NYCC"
Please help? This doesn't make sense to me - I know I can use the filters at the top of the grid view to show all flags - but for my own organizational purposes, I just want a smart collection that shows all flagged images as a part of my collection set "NYCC 2019" Is this not possible?

Your smart collection searches for images that are in a collection called 'NYCC 2019', but you do not have such a collection. You have a collection set that is called this way, but that is not the same. You cannot search in collection sets because images are not in collection sets. Collection sets are just a way to hierarchically organise your collections.

As both you and Johan observed, "NYCC 2019" is a collection set. Unfortunately, smart collections don't provide a criterion for matching collection-set names, just collection names.
A number of people have requested this over the years. Please add your constructive opinion of why you'd like this to the feature request in the official Adobe feedback forum:

As a less-convenient workaround, you could use the Any Filter plugin, with this filter:
