Lightroom Classic hangs on opening, often opening twice and locking computer up

I see the opening splash screen and it opens Lightroom, but it's unresponsive. If I click somewhere the splash screen comes up again and after a second Windows just application not responding. If I click "wait" it will finally open and operate.
