Lr Classic on WIN 10 Pro (1909) - UI sidepanels have inconsistent lighting (flickering)

As described in the header the UI's grey background lighting is showing inconsistencies (e.g. the grey areas flicker upon mouse hoover over photo's in grid view or in the bottom roll).

This doesn't affect the pictureframes shown on screen. Only the grey sidepanels are flickering. Also this doesn't seem to be a hardware issue since neither of the other apps with similar UI (Premiere Pro. Ae, Ps, but also Spotify) show flickering. Therefore this seems to be an isolated issue only affecting Lr Classic.

The monitor that I am using has a non-standard ratio (32:9) 5120x1440. Known as the Samsung C49RG90 (https://displaysolutions.samsung.com/monitor/detail/1421/C49RG90). But again, I am positive the monitor itself works perfect in all else.

- Also switching to different Hz setting and or resolutions didn't remedy this issue.

- new/different cabling doesn't resolve this issue.

- It WIN 10 only since when I connect my Macbook Pro (Mac OS 10.15.2) the issue isn't showing.

Completely Normal. Yes when moving the cursor over images in the Grid view area or the Filmstrip the grey background Lightens.

It is that way to Show You where the cursor is and if you notice the File Name changes to the name of the file when doing this in the filmstrip in either Loupe or Grid view. Been like that since I can remember.

Thank you for taking you time to reply. I understand what you mean, but this isn't of my concern, as it is what the UI is designed to do as usual. This is to emphazise or add focus to the image yet to be selected.

This is something else.

If this is something else than the normal lightening of the grey background, an actual Flickering of the screen, then it is a hardware problem. More than likely a Video card problem.

Thank you again, I fully understand my hw config. A bad driver isn't likely the case. Running a Gigabyte AMD Radeon VII with latest Adrenaling driver which I've just reinstalled.

As mentioned before, this setup isn't causing issues in other UI (being it Adobe and or other Vendors).

Windows driver updates are often outdated. Try updating your graphics driver from the manufacturer's website (AMD, Intel, Nvidia).

Thanks, I therefore never use them. My HW config isn't typical but more on par with a (custom workstation). To fully optimize HW handshake between components is near compulsary to use the vendors drivers.

1. Is this Windows 10 computer a desktop or a laptop?

I ask because IF you are having a hardware issue causing display issues, then you have forgotten to look at the GPU card. Not applicable to a laptop.

Is the card firmly seated in the slot

Is the card overheating. Primarily, is it encased in dust bunny's.

If the GPU has additional power lines connected to it, likely two sets, are they plugged in and not falling out.

In both cases, desktop and laptop check air inlets and outlets for dust.

This is my detailed harware config:

Windows 10 Pro (1909)

Samsung C49RG90 (32:9) 5120x1440 120hz

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master

Gigabyte AMD Radeon VII (dual 8-pin connectors)

Kingston HyperX Predator 3600MHz CL17 64GB (kit of 4)

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB (x4)

1200W PSU

I checked all connections and wiring, unseated/reseated the GPU, checked device manager for updates, checked Windows update (again), nor is dust causing the issue.

2. GPU driver

Interested in GPU driver version. And while you are at it, the system information as reported by lightroom.

Best way to share this. In Lightroom click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste into a reply. Interested in info from first line down to just past plug-in info, data after that point just gobblygook.

LATEST

UPDATE:

The problem seemingly only occurs in "Full screen mode without menu bar" which can be accessed with CTRL + F.

There are three options:

Windowed, yet maximized - no lighting glitch

Fullscreen with menu bar - no lighting glitch

Fullscreen without menu bar - problem occurs

This to my opinion makes it all the more likely it's a software bug.
