Need to create a custom install path for LR CC Classic

I am trying to install LR on a drive other than the M.2 SSD that contains Windows 10. However, Creative Cloud wants to install LR in the root directory. Is there a way to stipulate a custom installation pathway which will place LR on another flash drive of my choosing?

That doesn't sound right. The installers should install Lightroom in the Program Files folder. I would strongly recommend that you allow that to happen if you want Lightroom to function properly and without a lot of problems down the road.

Thanks for the reply, Jim. The reason for my concern...perhaps unfounded...is that my 500 GB of M.2 memory is max'd out after only 6 months. I do have an additional 500 GB on a second chip. Can you offer a strategy for managing M.2 or other flash memory to avoid my problem? I also have two basically empty 1 TB SSDs available. Happy Thanksgiving.

To make more room on your C drive, try these suggestions:

When you select download from the Cloud app, go into Advanced and specify that you want downloads to go to your D drive. However, your intalls will still go to your C drive, and it's dicey moving them to your D drive. Some stuff can be moved, but there is a risk of messing something up. I moved a lot of it, and, believe me, it's not worth it. What a headache!

Poke around in your C drive and find your email folder; mine is in Asus WebStorage. Check your sync folder and delete all the contents.

Go to C>Windows>SoftwareDistribution>Download> and delete all the files in that folder.

Manually delete all your temp files. C>Users>your name>AppData>Local, and first, delete anything that starts with Tempzxp*, then go into your Temp folder and delete those files. If you get a message saying some files can't be deleted, leave them. They're most likely related to the Cloud app.

Do a disk cleanup. C>Properties>DiskCleanup>Clean up system files>Windows update, if possible.

Use your CCleaner to clean your Windows and apps.

I downloaded Glary Utilities free version, and, in 1-click maintenance, scanned for issues and fixed.

You so that in the Creative Cloud desktop app. Click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner and select Preferences. Go to the CC tab and you will see "Install Location" There you can specify the drive and folder to install all CC app to. I have mine set to D:\Program Files\Adobe.

But you need to first uninstall all CC apps then reinstall once you make that change.

You have to specify the complete PATH as noted below.

CC Install Location.PNG

But some things will still get placed on the C drive under your Username folder and possibly the Common Files subfolder.
