Rotate Text in Lightroom Classic Blurb Book module

New Here ,

I cannot for the life of me find how to rotate a new text cell (for the book spine). Am I missing something obvious?

Thank you!

You cannot rotat a Spine text cell- what would be the purpose? you would only get one, or two, characters that would fit 'across' the spine width.

Look at most books- the spine text flows down the spine at 90 degrees to the book orientation.

If you want the Spine text to be orientated with the book title and yet flow down the spine- your only option is a "Rotated" font.

eg. Normal font and Rotated font examples:

I have added a new text cell in addition to the one the module pre-populates. The pre-populated one is set correctly, but the newly created one is not rotated. But this question would apply to beyond the spine; I can think of reasons you would want to rotate text on the interior pages. Also, in theory, you could want text as in your second example. If you had volumes, there are a lot of book volumes where the Roman numeral is parallel with a shelf if the book was stored upright.

Yes, I agree with your last comments. Possibilities I had not considered. (Me- not being a prolific Lr book user!)

Rotating a Text Cell on internal pages is not possible- I can only think of poor work-arounds, like screen-cliping text from other software and inserting as a photo cell.

You readsonable suggesion for horizontal text on the Spine (eg. Book Index data) seems only possible if the book cover template is for a Landscape Cover photo- Then it is possible to add a Text Cell that overlays the Spine area.
