Hi,

I have installed FMS 4.5 on an existing Webserver that already is running Apache.

I installed FMS 4.5 and unticked the Apache install option so there would be no conflicts.

When I use the sample videoplayer page, I cannot get any of the manifests to work, even though the fms.ini is point at the exisiting webserver root.

What do I need to configure to get FMS 4.5 to talk to my existing Apache server?

thanks

I thought that I read a thread discussing this exact problem but I can't find it (try looking for it).

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but the following discusses how to use an existing installation of Apache HTTP Server other than the one that installs with Flash Media Server:

Note that the article instructs you to install Apache as part of FMS in order to copy the Apache files to the other server. You might have to re-intall FMS with Apache server selected, follow the instructions above, then uninstall the Apache server that you will not be using.

Good luck.

thanks for the information.

I'll tread carefully as it is our company Webserver, so putting 2 versions of Apache on the machine might be causing issues.

I might install the FMS on a separate stand alone computer with Apache, then copy those files out and add them to the live Apache server directory. I'll see if it works.

thanks for the help
