Hi,
I am newbie for flash,I have installed FMS 3 on RHEL 4.Everything went well still now.but when i open localhost in my browser to check the sample flv and mp4 files in FMS3 my browser says its loading.....and it remains dumb.Has anyone tried how to resolve this..i tried disabling firewall and adding ports 1935 and 1111 as trusted services and unable to see the playback....

Then i copied the vod directory(having vodtest.html, swf and .js file to apache directory(/var/www/SER_TEST/)..and after this if i open the vodtest.html on another system in the same network then after pressing "GO" in vodtest.html it says "ConnectionError",suppose if the other system(i tried on WIN XP) has Flash Media Server 3 installed on it..it plays without any problem...i am unable to debug why this dependency is occuring..am i missing something..?????

for mp3 files; suffix .mp3 should not be used.
    correct rtmp url:
    rtmp://<IP address>/vod/mp3:my_file

Another thing that i wanted to know is how to stream mp3 files from the fms...i tried with keeping some mp3 files applications/vod/media directory and the i tried to access them bu rtmp://<IP address>/vod/mp3:my file.mp3 but it says "connection Error" any hints as to how to do this...???

    I recommended (on RHEL machine)
    1) installing fms 3.0.2 update from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashmediaserver/downloads_updaters.html

2.) upgrading the browser plugin to 9.0.124 or newer.

Then try playing sample files from localhost before moving ahead.

when accessing vodtest.html from Apache on a remote machine change the rtmp URL to rtmp://<your-linux-machine-IP>/.... from rtmp://localhost/...

    hope it helps.
