you can use Mixamo characters in your project if they are part of the game files and not models that can be easy exported... in dum talk: if people can remove the models from your project then they should goto Mixamo and download them from Adobe instead of getting them out of your project

it doesn't mater what your project is; a game, animation or images: that you do or don't give credit and no one cares how much $ you do or don't charge... only that the Mixamo files are locked into the projec

This is correct, you can use the characters and animations in any commercial project, as long as they are embedded and you are not selling only the characters or animation data. Credit isn't necessary but always welcome 🙂

I had the same question about using models. These models were apparently created by the studio Onion. Check out the link.

https://springonionstudio.com/services/character-development/

There are these models. This causes some confusion about what license the mixamo models have. This is a somewhat unclear situation that raises concerns about copyrights for the models.

Yes, you can use Mixamo characters in commercial games as long as you comply with Adobe’s licensing terms. In games like Geometry Dash, while the focus is on simple geometric shapes and movements, adding Mixamo characters to a different style of game can provide a unique visual appeal and enhanced player experience. Just make sure everything aligns with their guidelines, and you’re good to go!

Hey! Great to hear you're working on a Unity game — that’s exciting! Regarding Mixamo characters: yes, you can use the characters and animations from Mixamo in commercial projects. Adobe (who owns Mixamo) allows their assets to be used commercially, but just make sure you’re following their licensing terms — mainly, you can’t resell the raw assets by themselves.

It's kind of like Pokémon games  — you can create your own game inspired by the style or ideas, but you can't just copy and sell their original characters. With Mixamo, you're good to go as long as you're building your own unique project around them. Good luck with your game, it sounds awesome!

Yes, you can use Mixamo characters in your Unity project, even for commercial purposes — Adobe's licensing allows it.

According to Adobe’s Mixamo FAQ, you are free to use the characters and animations in personal, academic, or commercial projects without attribution. Just make sure you're not redistributing them as standalone assets or trying to sell them as is.

If you're developing a game and using Mixamo characters for in-game use (as NPCs, avatars, etc.), you're absolutely in the clear. TL;DR: Yes, you can use Mixamo characters in your commercial Unity game, just don’t resell or redistribute them as assets.

I’m also into modding and experimenting with game assets, and honestly Null’s Brawl has been a great example of how custom characters and skins can bring more fun to the gameplay. If you’re curious.

Good point! I’ve seen how games like Null’s Brawl use custom characters and skins, and it really shows how much creativity you can add beyond the original assets. If you’re curious, you can check it out here.
