P: Histogram not showing up

Photoshop 26.8.0 on macOS 15.5

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start Photoshop

2. Open an image

The actual graph does not show up in the histogram window.

But it always reappears when you switch between compact view and extended view, or resize the panel.

Thanks for getting back. Here's what I did:

1. Reset the preferences, and quit Photoshop.

2. Restart and land on the fresh default interface/workspace.

3. Check "Histogram" from the "Window" menu (now the histogram shows up as expected).

4. Drag the histogram tab out of the collapsed sidebar, so the tab persists.

5. Restart Photoshop.

And the problem comes back.

If the histagram window/tab is not collapsed by default, the graph won't show up when you open an image.

Same problem here. Windows Windows 32H2 Os build 22631.5472. Photoshop 26.8.

Histogram not showing when opening any format of image. I have Navigator and Histogram tabs in the right panel, Histogram active. but the histogram does not show. When I click on Navigator and then go back to Histogram it shows.

How to fix or is it a bug, that I cannot do anything about.

• Your system info from Photoshop (Help > System Info)

• Whether the issue happens with specific file formats

• If possible, a sample file where the issue occurs

Did you try having the histogram window expanded by default?

Do not evoke the histogram window only after you have opened an image.

1. Have you histogram window expanded by default.

2. Quit Photoshop.

3. Start Photoshop and open an image.

You will see blank in the histogram window, where it should be showing the actual graph immediately.

Now adjust the width or height of the histogram window, or switch to a tab next to histogram (if there is one) and back, or switch between compact / extended from the hamburger icon, the graph shows up.

My histogram is open by default. Makes no difference. No histogram in 26.8.
26.7 works perfectly with no fiddling.

We shouldn't have to fiddle around to make normal features work normally.

I reproduced LEMONardo's scenario. Moving the histogram window at all makes the histogram appear.

Switching between compact and extended view helps but is annoying.

I have the same problem too. Latest version installed, Histogram set to automatically open in my workspace, but no histogram graph showing just an empty box displayed.
