P: Distracting Taskbar 'Flickering' in Windows 10

I work with floating windows in Photoshop on windows 10, which means each open file has its own tab on the taskbar.

In 21.2, making a brushstroke while painting causes the active tab to flick from Photoshop to the open file and back again each time the stylus does anything. This is extremely visually distracting. It can be temporarily stopped by switching to another program and back to photoshop again.

Does this only happen with a stylus/Wacom? or with the trackpad and mouse as well?

Nevermind. I see the behavior with both. Thanks. I'll ask engineers to take a look.

While this doesn't completely remove the problem, I found out it does alleviates the issue quite a bit until Adobe can fix it

1. Click the Start icon
2. Type in regedit
3. Select regedit from the top of the result
4. Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
5. Editing ForegroundFlashCount
   1. Find ForegroundFlashCount
   2. Double click ForegroundFlashCount
   3. Replace the value for Value Data with 0
6. Editing ForegroundLockTimeout
   1. Find ForegroundLockTimeout
   2. Double click ForegroundLockTimeout
   3. Replace the value for Value Data with 0
7. Reboot computer or restart explorer.exe (task manager -> details -> explorer.exe - end task; Windows_Key + R > write explorer.exe and click ok to run explorer again with the changes)
