I'm using Phototoshop Elements 2024 for Mac.
Anyone know how to fix "adobe_licutil quit unexpededly"
I tried deleting the PE app and Organizer, as many folders and files in /Library/Application Support and /Library/Preferences. Then I downloaded a new install from Adobe, but the "adobe_licutil quit unexpededly" still pops up upon opening a photo.
Any help appreciated.

Running Sonoma 14.7.1 and PSE 2024 and having the same issue. Started about 2 months ago after no such message had ever come up! Tried uninstall of PSE and re-install... still receives the same message. Guess I will live with it until I read somewhere where this issue is fixed by either Adobe or Apple. Frustrating.

I bought a new MacBook Pro with the Apple chip and installed my PE. The problem disappeared.

Thanks for the feedback. The issue seems to effect different computers and OS versions.
Thinking about getting the new iMac M4 so good to know issue was resolved with the new MacBook M chip.
Not trying to jinx anything, but please report back if anything changes.

I am using a 14" Apple Macbook pro with the new M4 chip and have Sequoia 15.2 (latest as we speak). I have tried with both PE21 and PE 24 and keep getting "adobe_licutil quit unexpectedly". I ran both 21 and 24 successfully on an iMac (27" 2020) until installing Sequoia. Neither will run on the iMac (Sequoia 15.2) now without the "quit notice".
While there are alternative apps available which work quite well, it is most unsatisfactory to have paid as recently as July 24 for PE24 to find that it does not work.
Reading the Postings on this forum and others there must be thousands of these apps not working properly and it seems to now afflict PE25 as well.
It is not clear whether it is an Apple or an Adobe problem but I have not seen a disclaimer from either as yet.
I think it would not be unreasonable to hear something from Adobe because they are the people in receipt of the revenue generated by the sale of versions PE 21,24 and now 25.
I personally have not contacted Support services because I have tried unsuccefully the various remedies suggested here and elsewhere I see little point in engaging in frustrating and time consuming processes so that some "phone jockey" can tick a box saying "advice given" knowing full well that the advice given is unlikely to produce a posive result.
ADOBE IS LIKE ALL LARGE ORGANISATIONS, NOBODY ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILITY AND IS NOT FOCUSSING ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. IF IT DOESN'T WORK PEOPLE WILL GO ELSWHERE.

I do not think Adobe reads our discussions or this issue would be repaired! Surely they know or if they do, don't care...this is irritating and needs to be addressed by Adobe!
