Camera Raw  not found after updating Mac OS to Sonoma.  Have reinstalled Camera Raw 16 multiple times after closing PSE Organizer and Editor.  Each time when I try to edit a raw file I am asked to download and install.  I am in a non productive loop.

Canon 5D mk4.
I have been using camera raw with PSE23 successfully all year. It stopped
working(or wasnā€™t identified as being present) after I updated my Mac OS. I
wonder if Adobe has tested it with Sonoma running. I am reluctant to spend
$ on PSE 24 if they havenā€™t.

Give the trial version a walk around the block- see if it works for ya:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/309703032520352/

Your camera is an older model and only requires ACR 9.7- really no reason to manually install ACR 16.0.

You could just open up any image with raw in the trail and then you will be prompted about downloading ACR.

CAME ACROSS THIS IN REGARDS TO YOUR CAMERA:

I don't have a problem with PSE 2023 working on Sonoma except it doesn't
recognize the camera raw v 14.4.0.1121 I have installed. I have installed
camera raw 16 but it doesn't show up as being installed. Version
14.4.0.1121 is the only one shown. Since I only use raw I had to use Apple
Photos. Not a happy camper.

Did you install PSE 2024 and then Camera Raw 16. Or was it part of PSE
2024 (which I think is the logical way to distribute it)?

I have PSE 2023 on my Macbook.

I've been trying for some time to upgrade  Camera Raw from 14.4 to 16.3 with little success as I now have a Canon EOS 90D which uses .CR3 files.

Eventually I found 14.4 in a very weird place and replaced the old 14.4 Camera Raw.plugin with the 16.3 Camera Raw.plugin.

It now seems to work OK

.

When it's installed 16.3 goes to  /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CC/File Formats, but I had no Elements<Version Number> path to paste it to.

This second path is in fact:

Applications/ Ā± Adobe Photoshop Elements 2023.app Ā± /Contents/MacOS/ Ā± Adobe Photoshop Elements 2023 Editor.app Ā± /Contents/Required/Plug-Ins/FileFormats/Camera Raw.plugin

**When you come to the two apps (marked here with Ā± for clarity) you Right Click the app then click ā€œShow package contentsā€ then carry on.

I assume this unusual path is because I down loaded it from Apple App store.

I'd be interested to find out if Non Apple versions are the same.

RopyRot,

The non Apple Store versions have the Camera Raw plugin in

Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/Elements<Version Number>/File Formats

Thank you for providing the info for the Apple App Store version.

That will certainly help someone in the future.
