Have always been able DnD photos from Elements versions into Word docs, but after installing Elements 15 (on a W-10 OS system), the file name and path are what's copied, not the image itself. Upgraded from E 13. DnD STILL WORKS in in E13!

Hi Jeff,
We tried the same at our end and it is working fine on WIN10.
I would recommend you to restart your system to see if resolves the problem.
After this, if the problem persist, try uninstall and re-install of PSE15.
Thanks,
Arshla

I have restarted - several times - and uninstalled and reinstalled the program with no change in behavior. When I drag n drop from the PSE 15 catalog, the file path and name are what is inserted into the Word document. If I drag from the PSE 13 catalog (now called catalog 2), the image itself is what is copied, just as intended. I appreciate any further assistance you can provide.

Hi Jeff,
We are thankful to you for bringing this up to our notice. This seems to be an issue and we would have it investigated at our end for it's resolution.
Thanks,
Arshla

Until this is investigated at Adobe as stated by Arshla, I suggest try copying and pasting in Word. I tried at my end by opening an image in Editor. then went to:
Select >> All
Edit >> Copy (or you can use CTRL+C)
Now go yo Word and press CTRL+V. Wait a few seconds and your image will be pasted in Word.

I just tried again Drag & Drop on my other laptop and it seems that you need to activate your move tool and Drag&Drop works pretty fast. I used PSE15 and Word2016 an it worked very swiftly.
So it is worth a try doing this.
