changing white in the eyes

i have a pencil drawing of my grandfather , but his eyes are dark and i want to add a point of white in it.

how can i manage that.

It would help if you posted the picture. You might try the brush tool at low opacity an gently paint white to suit. Also you could select the eyes with one of the selection tools, and try to brighten with a Levels adjustment layer, or with a Brightness/contrat adjustment layer.

This is a low resolution file (72px/in). Perhaps you can get a better scan. Try this:

1. Open the picture file

2.Open a Levels adjustment layer above the Background layer, and work the sliders below the histogram to improve the entire picture.

3. Merge these 2 layers - press CTRL+E

4. Activate the Sharpen tool, and sharpen the eyes & eyebrows a bit

5. Open a blank layer at the top, and activate the Brush tool. Set your foreground color chip to white, and with a 10 px brush place a white "dot" in the center of the pupil. Use the Move tool to position to best advantage, and reduce the layer opacity - try 40%

6. Repeat for the other eye
