Hi guys.
I create actions in photoshop and a client has run into this issue that we can't seam to fix!
very time she tries to play the action it comes up with a pop up box that says " This is an adjustment layer that was created in the full version of photoshop and cannot be edited in photoshop elements. " But the action hasn't even been played. On a background layer with a jpeg image.
Can anyone help? It's super frustrating, especially when no one else using elements has a problem with the action!
Cheers!

The newest versions of photoshop elements will make all the adjustment layers in photoshop thru actions, however, there are a number of adjustment layers that photoshop elements won't edit including Curves, Color Balance, Exposure, Vibrance, Black & White, Channel Mixer, Color Lookup and Selective Color. The action will stop if it encounters an adjustment layer that can't be adjusted. (color balance will crash some photoshop elements versions)
In photoshop elements one can tell which adjustment layer aren't editable by a symbol to the right in the adjustment layer thumbnail.
Which adjustment layers are in the action?
If you make actions for photoshop elements on regular basis it would be advantageous to purchase a copy of photoshop elements for testing.

What version of photoshop elements and operating system is she using?
Which adjustment layers are in the action?
Are you able to post the action or maybe a screenshot of the action steps?

Thank you for replying. She is running Elements 2022, Big Sur on mac, I have never had any issue with any of my actions running in elements. And that is over 3000 users. This is baffling me!
Any advice I can pass on would be fantastic.
Cheers.

I really can't answer that one. Do you think this may be the issue?

Can you see if resetting her photoshop elements preferences solves the issue.
Go to Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 Editor>Preferences>General, click Reset Preferences on next launch and restart the photoshop elements editor.

A simple levels layer for lightening.

The entire action is for basic workflow. For lightening, darkening options, giving it more depth, a bit of contrast etc. It's nothing fancy.
