I keep getting this error message randomly when I'm working on files, "Could not complete your request because of a program error" it seems it may be font related but I'm not entirely sure as I haven't found a definitive pattern as to when it pops up . To top it off, the most frustrating of all, today, it won't let me save any files, as soon as I try to, the program completely closes without warning and without any messages or errors. Please, please, please help! I'm using Photoshop Elements 9 on a Macbook running macOS Sierra 10.12.6.
If the problem report means anything to anyone, here's what the top says:

I had this same problem with a MacBook Pro and my Mac desktops in Photoshop Elements 9. Now all on Sierra but it did the same thing on previous versions of computer software. The "Could not complete....." appeared only when I used the Type tool. It would eventually go away and I cold type in what I wanted. I have since upgraded to Elements 2018 and I don't get that issue but now have run into another issue with using the Type tool. Can't edit existing fonts from a previous version of Elements.

I was going to start a new discussion because it's not quite the same as this. Haven't finished typing it so will add it here.
I'm using Photoshop Elements 2018 on a Mac using Sierra. I upgraded from Elements 9 a few months back. I'm trying to identify a font I used on a previous project made with Elements 9. It won't let me click or double click the font layer so I can edit it in Type mode. All I can do is type a new layer. Same for a MacBook Pro and desktop.
