Faux Bold, Faux Italic, Underscore, Strikeout

New Here ,
May 12, 2018 May 12, 2018

I found that the Faux Bold, Faux Italic, Underscore, Strikeout buttons in Photoshop 15 and 18  do not modify the text to create bold, italic effects, underline, or strikeout as they would in the following lines.

Bold Bold

Italic Italic

Underline Underline

Strikeout Strikeout

These buttons modified the text in Photoshop version  12.

I am missing something or is there an error in the software?

Thanks Michael.

While your answer is correct for faux Bold and faux italic,  there is no option in the dropdown list for underline or strikout

Maybe wait a little for answers from other better informed users. I just discovered the right click solution... purely randomly.

I find that the righ click also works for underline or strkeout to toggle with faux XX on and off.

Try right cliking on the B, I, U... faux bold icons with the text selected?

Thanks Michael,

I misunderstood your suggestion.  Right clicking also brings down a list of options, two of which are Faux Bold and Faux Italic.

Now that I RIGHT clicked the B, I, U, or S button the highlighted text does change to Bold, Italic, Underline or Strikethrough or more than one.

I wonder why Adobe changed the selection of the B, I, U, and S options from a LEFT to a RIGHT mouse click in Photoshop Elements 15 and 18.

Thanks again for your help.
