When I try to move an image from the Organiser to the Editor I keep getting "camera raw requires GPU acceleration". As an old guy who is out of his depth with IT could you please explain in ( very) simple terms how I can proceed with processing my images in PSE 2025

You may have a built-in video card e.g. Intel or a third party GPU such as Nvidia or on Mac OS an M1 to M4 chip.
Launch the Editor and go to:
Preferences > Performance
You should see if your card is automatically recognised and if the checkbox “use GPU” is activated. You can try switching that on or off to see if it makes a difference.
GPU accelaration is not always required; it is normally required for complex editing functions but is sometimes needed for rendering large files. Are you trying to open large raw files? Are you dragging or using the File menu?
Otherwise updating to the latest driver for your video card can sometimes do the trick.

Thanks for getting back to me. The raw files are straight from the camera and it's just the last couple of days that I've had the problem. I normally use the File menu.
As you suggested I removed the check from GPU box but this does not appear to have made any difference.
So much has been happening lately with W10 & W 11 that I'm beginning to wonder if I've maybe inadvertantly touched something that I shouldn't have.

You could try resetting prefs. Go to:
Preferences > General
Click the button to reset preferences on next launch.
Then quit the Editor and re-launch.
