Trying to figure out how to bypass the welcome screen and go straight to Photo Editor in PSE 2020.
Hello,
There's no direct way to bypass the Home Screen in Elements 2020. However, you can create Desktop Shortcuts to directly access individual applications. To do so, please perform the following steps:
Likewise, for Elements Organizer, please navigate to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 2020 Organizer", locate the 'Photo
...In Windows 10:
Right click on the Desktop > Click New, click Shortcut, and type:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2020\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
click Next and then click Finish.
You will now have a shortcut for it on your desktop.
. . . and just to add another option for other Windows users who may have the same question: Right-click on the task bar icon when the program is open. This gives you an option to pin the program to the task bar where it will always be readily accessible. (You can do the same for the Organizer or even the Welcome Screen.)

WHY is the Home Screen MANDATORY? WHY does the USER have to jump through such hoops to bypass it?
SHAME on you, ADOBE. By now, you KNOW that USERS NEED the power, not be forced into time-wasting nonsense.

You are not ALL users. No need to YELL in this user to user forum. Obviously The home screen is a blessing for newcomers to discover new features and ideas. Advanced users don't need to be told that they can create desktop shortcuts: that has always been possible in previous versions. How long does it take to create the shortcuts? Much less than setting your own preferences. Does the home screen waste your time and RAM resources? Just check it, that's totally negligible in a normal editing session. My experience is that I waste time if I have not the organizer, the editor and the home screen open at the same time. Why the home screen? because advanced users are always curious and they know that they don't know all. And the search tool in this screen is the best way to access all the help docs by a text question, like in Google search engine (recommended, by the way). When I answer questions in this forum, I very often need to supply a link to a technical Adobe help doc. That's the shortest way, even compared with the Google search including "helpx; "

The right forum to tell Adobe that you prefer the older option to open directly the editor or the organizer is the feedback forum:
