My Canon90D gives CR3 RAW files. My Elements 14 will not read them.. I read some correspondence where users have found complicated "workarounds". I just want it to work! What version of Photoshop would I need to ugrade to so that it will work directly, with no "workarounds".I do not want to have to go through DNG  convertors or Adobe Raw.

Your camera only requires ACR 11.3  Any number of non adobe website have older versions of ACR.

I can give you the instruction to manually install any version of ACR if you want them.   I made them simple and easy to read- not very scary.

NO work arounds?

give the trial a try:

The EOS 90D requires ACR 11.4 or higher.

Photoshop Elements 2019 or newer will support ACR 11.4.
