NEF files not handled in Elements

I got an update of elements, now the NEF files are not visible anymore in the organizer ( just empty pic). Camer taw install will go to a different fpolder than where elements is installed.

How to overcome this

Which is your Elements software? Since PSE2023,  the ACR plugin is not installed by default. you have to go to the Editor help menu and to choose to install that plugin. If you have downloaded a plugin from another folder, it's the full ACR version for Photoshop not the simpler version for Elements.

thanks for the reply. I use PSE24... and i tried the Camera raw installation out of PSE24 from the help tab.

Look in the following folder:  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 24\File Formats.  Do you see a file named Camera Raw.8bi?

If not, you can copy the file from your earlier version of Elements and paste it into that folder.  (Your earlier version will be found in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements XX\File Formats,  where XX is the version number of your earlier version.  Note that from Elements 2018 to Elements 2023, the version numbers are from 16 to 21.)

. . .  And you may need a reboot for the Elements 2024 Camera Raw plug-in to work.

did not work unfortunately, although i moved a 8bi file and did reboot
