Pencil does not write.

Recently in Elements 8 the pencil tool stopped working.  The paint bucket still works.  Sometimes I have found that I must erase the pixels first before writing over them.  I suspect that the tools need to be reset.  I cannot find the command to restore the tools back to the original setting.  How is the reset done in Elements 8?  Tnx

On the tool's option bar, look for a little arrow, top left. You can reset here.
