Photoshop 2025 Smart Object feature missing

I just purchased Photoshop 2025.  I'm watching a video on how to use the Smart Object feature, but it is missing from my Layers drop down.  It is not present when I right click either

You subscribed to Photoshop 2025 or purchased Photoshop Elements 2025?

In the program go to Help>System Info and see what the top line says about the Version.

Photoshop Elements only has a limited set of functions with Smart Objects.  You are probably looking at a Photoshop Creative Cloud tutorial.

There is an inexpensive add-on that will give you more of the functionality for Smart Objects in Elements.
