PHotoshop Elements 2020 and 2023 - Keeps crashing!

New Here ,
Jul 25, 2025 Jul 25, 2025

I reinstalled both having issues with crashing.

I then read that 2025 version you buy for 3 years then it will stop working.

Is adobe doing this to older versions of photoshop elements so that i am forced to update?

I should be able to keep using a program that I bought for more years then just 2 (like with the 2023 version.

Has anyone else had this issue?

@jbps One of the most common reasons for older software to start crashing is incompatibility with newer operating system updates (e.g., Windows 11 updates). Adobe typically updates the current version of Photoshop Elements to be compatible with new OS releases, but older versions sometimes may not receive these compatibility patches, especially if it's 2020! The crashing issues you're experiencing are largely a result of these versions not being updated to maintain full compatibility with the very latest operating system changes and hardware. Adobe wants users to purchase the newest version (or now, the 3-year term license for 2025) to ensure full compatibility and access to ongoing updates.

Thank you but 2023 version i'm using windows 10 home machine.  And 2 days ago it 'was' working. then all of a sudden it started to crash yesterday.  Nothing significant was changed on my machine but even if it did, i reinstalled it so that would have fixed it.  I did install it on my D drive rather then my C drive so maybe that is something I shoudl try i haven't if that would make a difference?  i needed photoshop for my work so unfortunetly i was in a way forced to by the 2025 version and so far that hasn't crashed but haven't used it in a full capacity yet so we'll see. thank you for any further insight you can provide if you have it.  have a good day!

Installing Elements on your D drive is probably asking for trouble, especially on a Win 10 machine.
