I am running Photoshop Elements 2024, v.2024.0(2024321.Git.master.597671b)x64. I just installed Adobe DNG Converter 2024, v.17.0.0.2043 and used it to convert a single trial Fuji .RAF file. Everytime I attempt to open the resulting .DNG file, Elements 2024 crashes and simply shuts down. I have even tried using Windows File Explorer to look at the file properties of this resulting .DNG file and it causes File Explorer to immediately shut down. Before I uninstall the DNG Converter, I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this problem.
Your camera requires ACR 16.2. Elements 2024 will only install ACR 16.0. But there is a workaround to install the latest ACR, currently 17.x. See this post and make sure you follow the instructions precisely. You must copy the Camera Raw.8bi file to the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 24\File Formats.

Which Fuji camera do you have?
If you open one of the Fuji .RAF files into the Photoshop Elements Camera Raw and save it as a DNG do the same things happen?

My PS Elements 2024 and its Camera Raw do not recognize or open my RAF files (from a Fuji X100vi). My reason for installing Adobe's DNG Converter was to allow me to open these RAF files.

What version of Windows do you have?
(press the Windows key + R and in the Run dialog enter winver)
If in the Photoshop Elements Editor you go to Help>About Plug-In>Camera Raw, what Version does it say?

I am running Windows 11, version 23H2(OS Build 22631.4391) and Camera Raw version 16.0,0,1677. My Elements 2024 version and DNG Converter versions are listed in my original/top post.

Thank you for your suggestion to focus on updating ACR instead of trying to use the DNG Converter. I have printed your instructions and will try them after I am able to discover how to uninstall the malfunctioning DNG Converter =>> so far, clicking on its Uninstall tab takes me to the next screen where Adobe DNG Converter is not longer listed and does not show up on any searches of my entire OS. Once I solve that problem, and try your instructions, I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks again.

H Greg,
I finally bit the bullet and deleted the Adobe DNG Converter file. My delay was due to not being able to find it using the uninstall software tool. I then followed your detailed instructions for updating my Camera-Raw to the latest version and I am pleased to say that I can now successfully open my wife's Fuji .RAF files.
Both my wife and I want to thank you very much for your help to successfully resolve this problem.
