Photoshop Elements 2025

I recently received a notice about the new Adobe Photoshop Elements for 2025.   I noticed that it states that the software is only good for 3 years.  Why would Adobe take software we purchase away after 3 years.  I'm guessing I should just stick with my Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 version.  If I pay $99 for software (as I have done many times in the past), I don't feel like it should be something that is taken away after 3 years....and I did not see where it states what happens if you want to update to the next year's version.  Does that version continue then for an additional 3 years.  

I hope I haven't repeated a previous post.  I am just wondering if anyone has more information on this or if there is a place I can find it.

Adobe changed their liscening terms to PSE-- it actually brings it into aligment with many of their other programs.   3 years after you submit a remdemption code, the program will stop working.  As a registered user of a prvious version you are tpically offered a $20 discount on the purchase price:  the last time I bought a version of PSE I only paid $59- the sale price was $79 and I got the $20 discount.   The price from Adobe has never gone below $59.

If you ever find a version of pse 2025 with "Lifetime activation" for a crazy price of $29- it's a 100% scam, and illeagal.  Adobe does not offer anything "Lifetime" any more.

Now if you purchase pse 2026 next year:  It will work for 3 years after a redemption code is submitted (Nothing offical about that, but it's probably 100% accurate).

Each version is a brand new installation, of a brand new program, so beginning with pse 2025 it's a pretty good assumption that all future versions of pse  will come with the 3 year time limit.


ANOTHER ASSUMPTION ON MY PART:  It's inevitable that pse will go to a subscription model- it's just the way things work now in the software industry.  Currently PSE 2025 works out to $2.16 a month if you get it for $79- that's measured out over a 3 year time span.   In the future (I predict)  I would not be suprized if PSE 2027 (two years from now) becomes totally subscription based at $9.99 a month, and will be incorprated into the Adobe creative could family-- which would be a very good thing.

so sad one can t purchase a software 1 time only anymore.. . What if all softwares will start to ask money for life? I think Adobe should do licence only for companies not single home users.... They should let people to purchase one time only for those who are housewifes like me. I will be Never able to pay as rent. I can buy only once. I think Adobe should search to earn from those who use it for companies for work. But for housewifes they should not ask a licence payment byt one time only purchase. Why also photoshop elements now its not sold anymore at una tantum? Its really sad... they dont think people that dont have a job cant buy not even 3 eur at month!! I dont have money, I dont have a job and money are all for my car and medical expenses!! but photoshop is standalone and tutorials are all most for photoshop! I want purchase one time only my parents can purchase it for me One time Only not ask a rent for life!!! I use photoshop only  few months at year!! the last time I use photoshop was april or may! Want you adobe understand that at least you can approve one time only purchase for who use it few time at year just to study it and just for hobby? or you, without telling in public, are aware that not all use it for job and use Just from time to time, for adobe is ok as is aware that not all can permit to pay for rent a software?  I m very sad.... what will happens for who have Photoshop elements old version?

Is there any way to use my version of photoshop elements 11 on a computer with windows 11? I tried, and it downloaded from the disc and I was even able to use it. But when I had to restart the computer  it went haywire and had to reset. While the disc was downloading a notice came up saying  A driver cannot load on this device. I've had this disc since 2011 and it works perfectly in windows 10, but supposedly windows 10 will be crap in October. Any suggestions? I can't afford a new version of photoshop.

The answer is: Yes.  The two programs are entirely independent.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 has a 3-year support period, meaning updates and fixes stop after that, but the software should still work. If you upgrade to a new version, the 3-year cycle resets for that version.

That is incorrect.  Photoshop Elements 2025 has a 3 year term license.  The Editor will stop working 3 years after first activation.  Only the Organizer will continue to work after that.

Ich habe am 03.10.2025 die aktuelle Version Photoshop Elements 2025 erworben. Der Kauf ist auch unter meinem Konto registriert. Jetzt werde ich, sobald ich das Programm öffnen will, dazu aufgefordert diese Version nochmals zu kaufen, alternativ zu testen. Was ist zu veranlassen? Adobe hat bisher nicht auf meine Anfragen reagiert.

@sally_1528 try going to the Products page of your Adobe Account and downloading the program from there, rather than using your installation disc.  If you are still getting the error message, please give us a screenshot, or at least the exact wording, of the message.

@sally_1528, I forgot to mention that Elements 11 requires you to download two files.  You should put them into the same download folder and then double-click on the Download.exe file.

What he just posted was for much earlier  versions -- versions that are close to 15 years old.   With versions like {PSE 2010 you had to download two files  an exe file which started the installation process and the data file containing all the files the program needed to install to work.
