If you have the installation CD that came in the box when you purchased PSEv.6, try to install via this medium. If your new computer does not have a CD drive, use another computer with CD drive, and copy the CD content to a thumb drive, then install on your new machine via USB port.

The earliest version of the software that can be downloaded directly from the Adobe server is v.7.
If all this fails, consider trying the free 30-day trial of PSEv.18. If it works for you, you may purchase the license subsequently. Be aware that it is anticipated that Adobe will release a new version this fall, and you may elect to wait for this release.
Even if you were able to install your old v.6, it is problematic that it would function properly on a modern operating system.

Many thanks for responding.
I have downloaded the free trial and am likely to take your advice and wait for the new release.
Very much appreciated

It seems pretty unreasonable to expect any company to support in any way, to include downloads of, software that was released about 16 years ago. How is that Adobe wanting to "Screw their customers"?

What same old issue?
If you have the installer, a valid serial number and compatible hardware then Adobe will honour the serial number.
