Hello
When I open a single RW2 file I have no problems, but when I try to do the same with more than one file, the program crashes. It's the same if there are 2 or 20. A few weeks ago, I could open group files of that type without problems. Does anyone know what this is due to? Thank you so much.

What version of Photoshop Elements and operating system are you using?
Which Panosonic camera are the files from?

Do you get the crash when opening the files into Camera Raw or when opening those files from Camera Raw into Photoshop Elements?
What version of Camera Raw do you have?
In the Photoshop Elements Editor go to Help>About Plug-In and click on Camera Raw to see the Version.

I have done what you have indicated with negative results.
Testing, I have found that in order to open more than one file, I must install Camera Raw after each start of the program: Help>>>>Install Camera Raw. By doing this at each start, I can open more than one image at a time.
I don't know how to solve the problem. Thanks

Hello
I still can't open batch files with the RW2 extension, after doing all the actions that have been recommended to me. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks

Does it make any difference if you just use C drive for the scratch disk in Edit>Preferences>Scratch Disks?

I have tested it with negative results. The application keeps crashing when I try to open more than 1 RW2 file.

Does the crash occur when you try to open more than one file into the Camera Raw dialog or after clicking the Open button to open the files into the Photoshop Elements Editor?

One other thing i can suggest is updating the drivers for your Radeon RX 470 graphics card if your able to.
Otherwise you may need to downgrade the Camera Raw plugin to Camera Raw 15.5.
Camera Raw 16 almost exclusively relies on the computers GPU (graphics card) to open and process files, while Camera Raw 15.5 doesn't so it tends to work much better with systems that might have GPU driver or other GPU issues.

The crash occurs when I try to open a batch of images, either by clicking File >>> Open or >>> Open in Camera Raw.
If before trying to open the files I go to the Install Camera Raw option, the Elements Add.on Utilities 2024 installation program appears and tells me that a previous installation of that product has been found (I think it is installed in c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug Ins\Elements24\File Formats ), clicking continue and very quickly going from 2% to 100% installation.
Once that installation is complete, I can now open the files in batches, so I don't think it has anything to do with the graphics card or the Camera Raw version.
Thanks again

It wouldn't hurt to try the camera raw 15.5 version and see if that makes a difference.

Negative result. The application crashes when trying to open more than one file. I have followed the instructions on Adobe's page for version 15.5 to the letter.
I may have to think about switching to a more user-friendly application, which would be a shame after many years of using Photoshop in all its versions.

You could try a complete reset of the Photoshop Elements preferences by going to
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\24.0
and deleting every thing inside the 24.0 folder except the Presets folder.

The test of deleting part of the contents of folder 24 has also given negative results. I don't know what to do anymore. We have been trying to get an application to work properly for 15 days. I feel cheated by Adobe.
The only way to be able to open several files in batches is to install Camera Raw every time the application starts. If I don't do it this way, it crashes and I have to end it from the Task Manager. Thanks again.

Maybe give Adobe support a go at it.

Thank you for your invaluable help. The important thing is to try to solve problems even when the result is not what was expected. I have stopped using the application because the consultation with Adobe support has been a disaster: the period in which I have had to fight with the virtual assistant was excessively long and when I have managed to communicate with a technician, the option that he has given me has not worked either and without waiting for my response, he has concluded the conversation.
I will look for another application that is more user-friendly or with better support.
Greetings..
