PhotoShop Elements 2022/2023 is much worse than older versions* due in part to loss of the Enhance pulldown/ Adjust Color/ Color Variations tool. From PSE 8 or before, it provided a stable, manageable way to adjust each of the three primary colors at 3 levels (shadow, midtone, highlight). The manual color adjustment to*ols in PSE2022 have some value but are too touchy-feely twitchy and not well suited to simple tonal fixes. (Our Macs last a long time; PSE 8 was fine on a 2016 until recently, and still is, on a 2010 that is off-line only for security. I refuse to sully my new M2max with whizbang that makes it too easy to lie in an app that still needs Rosetta to translate.)

Thanks, Hatstead. FYI, I got an M2max. PSE 2022 in Rosetta kept crashing. I dumped it and use an ancient Mac's PSE 8, moving files on flash drive via thumb-net. Remember "sneaker net" with floppy disks? So I will blow the $100 for PSE 2023 (supposedly both Intel and M-chip capable?). And another C-note for Affinity and Pixelmator. to compare. Hoping to dump two of the three.
