PSE Installations- do they contain PxHlpa64.sys from Corel?

I had PSE15 installed before installing PSE 2023 Both co-existed on the system. I noticed the well-documented Memory Integrity Protection error, (due to the PxHlpa64.sys driver being incompatible). Not being sure where this driver had come from, I unstalled both products. The incompatible driver remained. So, my question is do either (or both) of the PSE version mentioned install this driver? If so why was it not removed when the products were uninstalled?

This driver is absent from my computer which has used PSE6 and all versions since PSE10.

A Web search shows that it was used with CD burner from Roxio and Corel.

Thanks for your response.  I have no Roxio software on my PC.  This driver is also associated with the 'Sonic' DVD burning software and I have two registry keys starting PSE15/payloads/Sonic/pxengine5_08_13 one ending ApplicationCompany, the other ending FriendlyAppName which strongly suggests the pxengine software came with the PSE15 installation. It was not removed when uninstalling PSE15.  'Well-documented' was clumsy wording on my part as 'widely reported' would have been more accurate, as a web search of the phrase 'pxhlpa64.sys memory integrity' shows.

This might be a solution:

I cleared the problem by renaming the files (adding an .off extension) ...

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Sonic Shared\PX Drivers\pxhlpA64.sys.off

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\PxHlpa64.sys.off

I kept using Adobe Photoshop Element since last fall and nothing has bugged so far.

Thanks, I have seen other suggestions which involve changing the file extension, the one I found recommended renaming it to .old.  I did try that one, but it had no effect.  Others who went down that route found that the DVD drive was unusable afterwards.

Think I've just answered my own question. Reinstalled PSE15 which modified a folder 'Sonic', which contains the Pxengine5_08_13a.exe file. PxHlpa64.sys is part of the Pxengine library. So PSE15 does contain (or modify) this driver.

Maybe some installs include it, and some do not. Where is your install from?

As stated in my previous answer, that plugin has never been installed in any of my previous PSE version, but I must say that I have never installed Premiere Elements.

I don't remember exactly when Adobe (or Microsoft ?) stopped providing a utility to burn DVDs, but at that time, many users did download third-party software for that purpose. My choice was not Roxio and anyway DVDs are now obsolete and useless for me.

It's fine if that's your experience.  I downloaded PSE15 from the Adobe site. It contained a folder called 'Sonic'.  Sonic is DVD writing software. That folder contains Pxengine5_08_13a.exe, PxHlpa64.sys is part of the Pxengine software. I did say 'or modified' because I know the driver was there before the install so it's not conclusive proof ,which I would only have if I delete the driver before the install.
