How do you clear the recently opened files list so that the more recent files show on the list?
Under preferences I've changed the number from 25 to 0 closed the file and reopened to change back but the same old file show up.
Help
Hi Maureen,
The instructions were actual created by someone else.
Yes, a subfolder is the same as a folder.
In step 6, it is just saving the newly created files in the folder (subfolder) so that if you get into the same situation in the future, you can copy the files back to reset the recent used list.

Hi
I tried with Photoshop Elements 2018 and the option "Open Recently edited file", lists the recent files which were edited in order such that most recent file shows first.
Now the number of files to be listed under this option can be modified using the Preferences Menu in Edit under "Saving Files" option.
This changes takes does not require restart of Photoshop Elements.
If you wish to list more files in "Open Recently edited file" increase the number in preferences.
Please let me know the version of Photoshop Elements which you are using to verify the exact scenario at my end.

Thank you so much for your response.
I am using PSE 15 and I my recently edited images are still not showing on
the list. Only those processed a long time ago are there. Even if I change
the number of those on the list to 100 and more, the latest one showing is
still the old ones. Is there a way to delete the list and start fresh?
Thanks, Maureen

Thanks you for your reply. I am using Windows 8. I have gone thru the
steps you describe up till step 3. You say to create a subfolder. Is that
the same as a folder? It looks like a regular folder as opposed to the
other subfolders.
I did restart PSE 15 and edited an image and there is was in recent
files! but can't figure out step 6.
Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks again, Maureen
