Save As a Copy not working in the Save As dialog of Photoshop Elements 2026.

In Elements 2026 in the Save As dialog, I am expecting that checking "As a Copy" will automatically add a suffix to the original filename so that I can easily save a copy of my image rather than overwriting the original. But, the "As a Copy" checkbox appears to do nothing.  This caused me to accidentally overwrite a few originals.

This sounds like a Photoshop Elements rather than a Premiere Elements question. 

But that said, have you checked your preferences settings for saving files?
