saving a layer from a template

Hello so I am using photoshop elements 2022 and I have a template filled with buttons and other things that are made for editing and customizing and I am pretty new to this so can not figure out how to save one of these buttons by itself as a png without having to save the whole file. I attached a screenshot to show what I am referring to. Please someone help.

There are various ways to do this. 

  • Select all of the layers by Shift+Clicking on the top and bottom layer.
  • Press Ctrl+, to hide all of the layers
  • Click on the layer eyeball of the button you want to save.  This will make only that button visible.
  • Save the file as a .png file with a new name.

 

Alternatively:

  • Create a new transparent file for the button (File>New>Blank File)
  • Select Tile from the Window>Images menu.  This will bring the button file and the blank file side by side
